The parable of the sower taught us that just as different soils receive the same seed in different ways, so different hearts receive the gospel in different ways. That’s exactly what happens in Mark 7, where three different groups of people have three different reactions to Jesus. There’s also an additional insight in this acted out parable: our expectations of who is best-positioned to receive Jesus may be confounded.

  1. Those who are quick to accuse (1-13)
  2. Those who are slow to learn (14-23)
  3. Those who are determined to believe (24-30)
