The conversion of the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8 is a well-worn text for many preachers. Less known is the Ethiopian eunuch of Jeremiah 38, some 500 years ealier. In both stories the unexpected love of an outsider for God’s word puts Israel to shame.
