1 Corinthians 5 is not a fun text to read or preach. It is a shameful chapter in the history of Corinth. The subjects it raises are things we’d rather not have to think about: brethren in sin; confrontation; and church discipline. But if we’ll learn from their shame, it can be to our gain.

  • The scandal of sin in the church (1-2)
  • The rescue of the brother in sin (3-5)
  • The purification of the church (6-8)
  • The necessity of judgment (9-13)
